Stephen Cottrell recently held a harvest service in Asda. I don’t think that’s a good idea as, whatever benefits might seem to accrue, it would seem to suggest that the church has no problem with Asda or supermarkets. This should not be the case. Supermarkets treat their suppliers abominably, are damaging our food chains, livestock and food culture. The church should be more vocally critical of them.
